Abdelhak & Ashley

When we first began dreaming about this shop, it wasn’t just about sharing the beauty of Marrakesh’s craftsmanship—it was about building a bridge between cultures and creating a community that supports and celebrates artisans. We hope to educate and share a little piece of Marrakesh here within this shop while giving back and celebrating a city alive with creativity, where at every turn you can see hands at work.

For Abdelhak, growing up just outside of Marrakesh meant being surrounded by the region’s artistry and traditions. For me, coming from the American South, where quilting and hand-sewing are deeply rooted in tradition, I immediately felt drawn to this shared language of craft and its ability to tell stories through making.

Though we come from different places—making is a universal language that I was quickly able to speak with Abdelhak's mother through while learning about her beautiful embroidery. I’ll always remember the first time we met: she showed me how she hand embroiders patterns inspired by her detailed and complex pattern book.

This shop is an extension of that connection and a celebration of Marrakesh’s artisanship. We work closely with local craftspeople to honor their skills and ensure their work is appreciated beyond Morocco. By collaborating directly with them, we aim to provide fair wages and a platform to share these creations.

Looking ahead, we dream of creating a physical space in Marrakesh—a workshop where artisans can gather to share knowledge and teach others. It would be a place where women like Abdelhak’s mother could pass down their skills to younger generations while learning new ones in return. This space would be filled with creativity, collaboration, and community—a hub for preserving the soul of Marrakesh’s craftsmanship.

For us, this journey is deeply personal. It’s about weaving together our worlds—Abdelhak’s roots in Moroccan artistry and my Southern heritage—and sharing that tapestry here. Every piece we offer carries a story: one of tradition, connection, and resilience. We hope that through this shop, you’ll feel closer to Marrakesh and the incredible people who make it so special. So welcome or Marhaba, with love - Ash
